This California casual family-friendly getaway home boasts stunning lake views. Resting on the crown of the property, the design challenge was to integrate current site elements and beach restoration with a new 5100 sf home. The result is a series of natural stone terraces with large masses of summer flowering perennials on the lakefront. Bands of color in yellows, purples and reds blend with the windows and arches of the home design. Bordering the property are plantings to create privacy and frame views. Large red maple trees add shade, structure and brilliant fall color, while two weeping hemlocks flank the front entryway. A large screened in porch and patio, with outdoor kitchen, provide the perfect setting for family entertaining and outdoor activities. Adding a kitchen garden brings out memories of fresh small farm scents. Natural stone steps lead down to the sandy beach and boats docked, ready for play.
